It contains a flavonoid, dihydromyricetin, that’s found in the Japanese raisin tree. This compound, according to a Journal of Neuroscience study Liang helped conduct, accelerates the liver’s ability to break down acetaldehyde so it doesn’t build up in your liver, where it causes the inflammation that leads to headaches and triggers vomiting. Kristin Ess Rose Gold Temporary Tint Most temporary hair colors are chalks, powders, or aerosols. “They go on dry hair and are hard to apply evenly,” says Nikki Ferrara, a colorist at Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in New York City. “They make hair sticky and matte.” Not this wash-in tint. Made for blonde and highlighted hair, it goes on in the shower (after you shampoo, wring out your hair then spray it on) and it’s easy to spread. In the early 2000s, the trend was shiny, watery lips. We had a glossy formula in our lab, but it was for teenagers. We thought we could make it feel grown-up if it was more transparent, with more sophisticated shades. But we had another problem: the formula. To keep shiny gloss on lips, you use a sticky polymer that’s a little tacky. Then we stopped thinking about that as a negative. Honey and fruit marmalade are sticky but delicious.
