WHEN JAMES BEARD AWARD–WINNING CHEF and restaurateur Jody Adams was asked to help guide a bike tour of Sicily in 2008, she had one goal: “I didn’t want to have to get in the van.” She didn’t—and by the end of the trip, she was smitten.
