In March this year, it took less than four hours for the jury to return a guilty verdict. They concluded that Linda LaRoche had committed first-degree intentional homicide, along with hiding a corpse. Peggy Johnson’s sister, Spring Leslin, and aunt, Ginny Schroeder, were both present at Racine County Circuit Court and wept as the verdict was delivered. First-degree intentional homicide carries with it a guaranteed sentence of life in prison, meaning that LaRoche, now 67, would spend the rest of her days behind bars.
