BAKED POTATO VS BOILED POTATO
Ahh, two of the staples of larders up and down the land, but which is the best when it comes to the nutritious spud u like? When we examine the calories, understandably the boiled version comes in at slightly less than the skin-on jackets, at 86cals per 100g to 93cals, both spuds deriving most of their calories from carbs. Each does contain muscle-repairing protein, but it’s nominal at around 1.7g (boiled) and 2.5g (baked per 100g, respectively). Fat’s similarly low – unless you cake both in butter, of course! Where they markedly differ, however, is in the vitamin and mineral content, as the skin is packed with calcium, vitamin C, phosphorous and potassium, which will boost bone health and immunity.
