A day in Cape Town was all it took for Indian businessman Analjit Singh to fall in love with Franschhoek. Dr Sara Lazar, a neuroscientist at Harvard Medical School, was one of the first people to test anecdotal claims about the benefits of mindfulness and meditation with brain scans. Used to be that Sauvignon Blanc was an essential part of any girls’ night out, but there came a time when Savvy B started to pull on the inside of our cheeks, and not in a good way – in a too fruity/sweet/acidic kind of way – and we abandoned it in search of pastures new. ROSE CARE FOR MAY • Water your roses at least once a week (with a watering can if there are water restrictions).
