On the eve of her 58th birthday, the Countess of Wessex once again proved why she is such an asset to the monarchy.
A smiling Sophie, who celebrated her big day on 20 January, helped Connaught Junior School in Bagshot, Berkshire, mark its 60th anniversary by officially opening its new Steam Lab, a dedicated space for science, technology, engineering, art and maths.
Wearing a blue and black striped Gabriela Hearst dress, she joined pupils in the pottery room to make commemorative tiles and stopped in at a cookery session, and also planted a cherry blossom tree with the Eco Council as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative.
There was even a meeting with Toffee the school’s cockapoo, who, said a spokesman, “has a great impact on wellbeing at Connaught,…
