Even before its release, BMW Motorrad were shopping around their R nineT to custom bike builders around the world. The 1982 movie TRON may not be on the radar as far as “bike films” go, but the cult sci-flclassic did contain the cool ‘LightCycle’, an updated version of which featured in the 2010 reboot, TRON: Legacy. This past May, a full-size, fully-operational LightCycle created in the style of the machines used in the second film was auctioned in the US. The LightCycle replica was part of the collection of Paul and Chris Andrews; an American father and son team of collectors who had accrued an impressive collection of classic cars, hot rods, automobilia, memorabilia and other items over a 15 year period.
