Old age is the age of serenity, tolerance, understanding, forgiveness, and wisdom.
As we grow older, we change and give up old, nasty habits. We become more tolerant, compassionate, loving, and graceful. Like wine, we mellow with age. But there are some who don’t change in their old age. In fact, the converse is true. They become irritable,
intractable, and given to bouts of rash behaviour.
So it was with the 70-year-old farmer, Christoffel Johannes Stoman from Vredendal in the Western Cape, who, in a fit of rage, allegedly drove his vehicle into a 6-year-old boy, pinning him against the fence and breaking both his legs.
