As I watched the musical live show at the Artscapes (My Fair Lady), my mind couldn’t help, again, sneaking outside the 1400 seat mega-auditorium and instead of focusing on the overworn-yet-forever unresolved clichéd theme on stage, about class and caste, as usual, began contemplating the thousands of unfairnesses all over.
There was firstly the positive side of a minor miracle being performed on stage.
Probably, some sincere, out of genuine recognition that colour doesn't matter after all. I, however, want to believe that much of it has to do with BEE, the new legislation, the new Constitution, the new anti-apartheid acceptance, etc.
Whatever it is, it was great to see that race and colour did not seem to matter on stage. In fact, I suspect that all skins were purposely…
