THE two surviving men convicted of the 1981 murder of anti-apartheid lawyer Griffiths Mxenge have asked the SAPS to fund their legal defence. Mxenge, who was a prominent human rights lawyer and ANC member, was murdered in Umlazi, Durban, in 1981. He was stabbed 45 times by three apartheid-era police officers.
