MINI LIFE Been writing about Minis since the 1990s, drove a nasty 1000 called Old Scabby in the UK, now rehabilitated as Lady Scabs. Moved to Canada to drive on the wrong side of the road. Currently assembling a barn-find unbuilt 1974 Mini Marcos and fettling the new RSP Cooper. Recently finished a Mini restoration book through Veloce (www.miniresto.com) so I’m coming back out to play.
Pimple: 1990 RSP Cooper, 1275cc engine, Webasto glass roof, air conditioning, leather, oil cooler. Non-standard wood trim, Moto-Lita steering wheel.
Mini Marcos: GRP monocoque, fresh 1100cc engine with Cooper head, AEG148 early Cooper S/ MG Midget profile cam, 1.5-inch SU on small-bore inlet manifold, three-branch exhaust, 3.1:1 final drive ratio, Cooper S disc brakes. 5 x 10-inch Minilight-style wheels…
