It’s been 20 long months since Russell Hill, 74, and Carol Clay, 73, disappeared on a camping trip, leaving behind a mystery that their families and police have struggled to unravel.
But, in an extraordinary breakthrough, officers dramatically arrested a person last week in relation to the case.
As New Idea went to press, the Melbourne-based individual had not been charged.
Carol’s sister, Jill Clay, told the media that not knowing what happened to her beloved sibling has been incredibly tough, but hopes closure might be in sight with this arrest.
“Emotionally, it’s brought up everything during that time – a lot of grief and pain,” Jill said. “We haven’t known how, we haven’t know why, they just vanished.
“Now, suddenly, there’s a glimmer and we might get some answers.…
