The original National Scooter Day (NSD) took place on September 12, 1981, being the brainchild of Tommy Marr, a well-known Worcester scooterist. This was a forerunner of the National Rallies we all know and love, being held at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern. This venue, of course, was visited during the NSD2 rideout on Saturday, September 18, 2021, to pay homage to the original rally and to celebrate the 40th anniversary. It was led by Norman Lambert and Gary Smart who both attended the 1981 rally.
