When a call was put out for knitting life size mannequins I was keen to be involved and offered to knit a kilt for the Piper Bill Millin. Describe your typical day… The bus drops me off about 9:15 and I normally open up straight away. I'll pack orders first, unless I've got classes. Spring/summer is quiet so I'll either be writing my next book or kit, teaching students or serving the occasional customer. Autumn/winter is busier as people craft more so I'm often helping with yarn and pattern choices and fixing mistakes or offering solutions. My teaching diary is fuller, so things like writing, designing and shop related things, like stocking shelves, get done in the gaps between classes.
