In only the third occasion in its history, the Royal Mail has issued a new set of coronation stamps: His Majesty King Charles III: A New Reign, to honour his coronation on 6 May.
Presented in a miniature sheet, the four stamps depict themes close to the new king’s heart: a diverse, multi-faith community, conservation and sustainability and the Commonwealth. Showing images of rural and urban Britain, the stamps, designed by Atelier Works, feature newly commissioned wood engravings by artist Andrew Davidson, who has also created the design of the miniature sheet, which depicts intermingled roses, thistles, shamrocks and daffodils – the flowers representing England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, the four countries of the UK.
