come for tea This year, 2023, has a been a milestone year for TeaTime in several ways. It is the magazine’s 20th anniversary year, with our first issue having been published in the autumn of 2003. To commemorate our yearlong celebration, we shared a series of articles titled “Teatime Tips” in which we conveyed helpful information about the various aspects of creating a picture-perfect teatime at home. I hope you will enjoy our final installment, which begins on page 61 of this issue and focuses on the sweets course—just in time for your holiday tea parties. On July 10, 2023, the world lost Phyllis Hoffman DePiano, an extraordinary entrepreneur whose influence will live on through the company and magazines she founded. She was my dear friend, a bright light in my life for more than four decades. We met as neighbors and bonded over our shared love of needlework, traditional architecture and furni-ture, Colonial Williamsburg, and afternoon tea. Phyllis moved next door when she married my neighbor in 1978.
