We are going to show you how to connect the High Quality Camera or Camera Module to your Raspberry Pi using the supplied ribbon cable. Attaching a Camera Module to Raspberry Pi is easy, using the CSI (camera serial interface) found on most Raspberry Pi boards. You'll need a compatible ribbon cable. The larger Model A and Model B Raspberry Pi boards use a standard cable (magpi.cc/cameracable), while the smaller Zero boards use a Zero Camera Cable (magpi.cc/zerocameracable).
