Ferguson-Brown does well
Tractor sales in Cumbria have not always done so well over the years, but the W Wharton disposal sale at Green Rose Farm, on Saturday 24 September, turned that around.
Penrith & District Farmers Mart held this on-farm sale at Crackenthorpe, Appleby, in glorious weather and it was made up of 706 lots, with a similar number of registered bidders, plus friends and on-lookers, making this a big day out for everyone.
Top lot on the day was a 1937 Ferguson-Brown A (no. 44), in grade 4.9 condition, that was sold for £22,500. The Ferguson welder unit made its reserve price on the day, at £16,000 (grade 3 condition).
