For fans of Yellowstone, there was nothing like a spin-off about the Dutton family’s origins to satiate their viewing needs in between seasons. And the first season of 1923 didn’t disappoint, centred around John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) great-granduncle Jacob (Harrison Ford) and his wife, Cara (Helen Mirren), as they navigated the hardships of drought, prohibition, land disputes and the Great Depression.
Jacob was tasked with taking over the Dutton family ranch, following the deaths of his younger brother, James, and James’ wife, Margaret.
