Last night, as I was watching a movie, the scene grew tense, and I grabbed for the remote. I have a habit of skipping over the stressful parts. When something bad happens on-screen, I either fast-forward or get up and leave the room. I sometimes bring this same sentiment to my life—dreading an upcoming challenge or stressful day, I find myself wishing to advance time to an easier future.
Recently, when I was in the midst of an upcoming challenge, I thought about Jesus in those sacred hours in Gethsemane. He knew the weight of unimaginable fear and still He chose to embrace the Cross, trusting in His Father’s plan and love-and I, too, can stay in the moment and face whatever lies ahead, knowing that I am not alone.…
