Harry Stone Voyager 1, the spacecraft launched in 1977 to explore our Solar System, is currently 20,103,806,117 kilometres (12,491,925,975 miles) away and counting, having made it across the boundary of our Solar System and into interstellar space. While many of the onboard instruments are now nonfunctional due to age, Voyager 1 is still in regular contact with scientists on Earth.
