Who they are
Bob Switzer and BJ Wahl like relaxing at home with their cats, Oscar, Spencer, Willow and Keefer. They also are fervent advocates for the humane treatment of all animals. BJ, a retired librarian, and Bob, a retired computer graphics designer, volunteer at VINE sanctuary in Springfield, Vermont. “VINE stands for Veganism Is the Next Evolution,” BJ says.
What they do
VINE, a haven for animals who have escaped or been rescued from the meat, dairy and egg industries, was founded by Pattrice and Miriam Jones after they discovered a chicken in a ditch near their property in Maryland.
