Few artists have the ability to capture the Big Sky, the high mountains, the pure raw essence of the 1800s West and blend it on canvas with the men and women forged of steel, grit and leather who carved out their lives there. One friend and contributor to American Frontiersman was able to share the early pioneers’ vision, their untamed spirit and the very air they breathed within the vast scope of such a grand place. His name was Gerry Metz.
