Apple once again hosted one of its legendary ‘special events’ on Tuesday, September 10, and with it we got product announcements, such as Elvis Costello’s “new song from an album we’re just about to release next week,” in the words of the venerable singer-songwriter who closed the show. Nokia is expanding its lineup of Windows phones and introducing its first tablet computer, all sporting the powerful camera technology found in its flagship Lumia 1020 smartphone. The struggling cellphone maker is turning to the camera to differentiate its phones from rivals. Ironically, I am writing about roller coasters, even though I am scared to death to ride these seemingly threatening theme park beasts. Oh, don’t get me wrong.
