I love nothing more than a good productivity app. Sometimes I’m not even looking for a specific function, but I just hang out in the appropriate area of the App Store and peruse the newer or updated productivity apps to see if anything excites me. Some purchasers have encountered what’s been dubbed the “blinking blue light ofdeath” when they attempt to power up their consoles, CNN reported Tuesday. Southwest Airlines is unveiling an updated smartphone app today that will allow passengers to get on their plane by showing a boarding pass on the screen of their phone. Southwest is rolling out the boarding pass feature gradually, starting Thursday on flights from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas. The system will be rolled out nationwide -including in Las Vegas -- next year. Passengers will have the option of viewing the image or having it sent to an email address or to the phone via text message. Under the settlement, Google has agreed to pay a combined $17 million in penalties to 36 states for misleading consumers.
