A quarter of U.S. parents say the most common reasons to use a high-tech gadget to babysit a child are travel, boredom and family functions, a survey indicates. A survey by CouponCodes4u.com found almost 6-in-10 U.S. parents said they have used a hightech gadget such as an iPad, smartphone or handheld game console to “babysit” or occupy their little one so they didn't have to, the New York Daily News reported. TOKYO - Apple Inc. has applied for a trademark in Japan for "iWatch," indicating it may be proceeding with rumored plans to produce a smart wristwatch. A document obtained Monday from the Japan Patent Office's website said the application was made June 3 and made public June 27. It was not immediately clear when the application might be approved. Since the announcement of iOS 7 at this year's WWDC, developers have had a shot at trying out the new mobile operating software on their iPhones. Just a few weeks later, Apple is already announcing revisions with beta 2 of iOS and is now opening up the beta to iPads as well. Using iOS 7 on both my iPhone 5 and iPad has allowed me to get an even better feel for the software and solve aspects that were perplexing before. There are also still things that are missing, though others have shown up. Perhaps this can just be chalked up to the manner in which Apple is working on things.
