“The theme of the record is me turning 30, becoming a dad, losing a friend, trying to balance work and marriage,” the English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran explained to Apple Music about his fourth studio album – the long-awaited successor to 2017’s hugely successful ÷.
FIVE FACTS: 1. Sheeran originally conceived this album as an acoustic record – with some of the tracks, such as “First Times” and “Love in Slow Motion”, written with this in mind.
2. The album’s lead single, “Bad Habits”, was released in June 2021.
