The ‘South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival’ returns this August with over 9,000 artists and 700 events – exhibitions, artist talks, workshops, panels and more – across the state; from galleries to open art studios and non-conventional spaces. Inclusive of all mediums from sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing and photography to mixed media, the moving image and installations, ‘SALA’ is instrumental in the promotion and celebration of visual arts in Australia including this year’s Featured Artist Clare Belfrage. A number of prize opportunities are available such as the SALA Festival Patron’s Art Writer’s Award which acknowledges excellence in visual arts writing about South Australian living visual artists; entries close 31 August.
