CHARLTON HALL offers an auction of the Dr & Mrs. C.G. Hopper Collection on Friday, February 10. This significant collection was largely acquired four-to-five decades ago and focuses on the American South during the Colonial Period, Revolutionary War, and other early historical periods.
Dr. Hopper began to collect in the early 1970s, acquiring rare books, documents, and maps from internationally recognized dealers, including some of the most notable in the trade such as Arader, Cohasco, Flayderman, Glaser, Goodspeed, Heflin, Nebenzahl, Radford, Reese, Raimo, Rendell, Rubinfine, and others.
One of the books offered is the “Rare Early Book: American Revolutionary War Campaigns”. The book was published in London 1787 by Sir Banastre Tarleton, and titled, “A History of the Campaigns of 1780 and 1781: In the Southern Provinces of North America”.…
