At the tender age of eight, his school report noted of the young Prince that ‘he simply loves drawing and painting,’ and at Gordonstoun, his Scottish boarding school, this early artistic inclination was further cultivated by his art teacher, Robert Waddell.
After graduating from Cambridge, in 1971, the King began painting in earnest and has subsequently become an accomplished amateur painter, having works both exhibited and sold, with proceeds going to charity.
