HARLAN ANDERSON, a righthanded reliever who pitched in the Appalachian League for the Pirates and Orioles organizations in 1961, died Sept. 30 in Bloomington, Ind. He was 78.
GEORGE “BILL” ASH, a minor league pitcher who played in the Evangeline, Georgia-Florida and Alabama-Florida leagues in 1950, ’51 and in ’54, died Oct. 7 in Vestavia Hills, Ala. He was 89.
GENE BACQUE, a righthander who pitched for the Tigers, Twins and Angels organizations from 1957-62 and then pitched professionally in Japan from 1962-69, died Sept. 14 in Lafayette, La. He was 82.
