As simple as providing drum kits may sound, there are some pitfalls that need to be considered. In order to make it as easy as possible for the user, we always put together a kit of 16 drums, number them consecutively and keep a uniform structure. So every kit starts with a kick whose file name begins with 01. This is followed by a rimshot or optionally a second kick, then a snare, clap, snare, tom, etc. In the picture you can see the structure of a complete kit. This fixed structure has several advantages: On the one hand, it complies with the General MIDI standard, so you can load compatible MIDI patterns onto the kit‘s track and immediately get working beats instead of chaos.
