Almost exactly 100 years ago, in 1925, the first electrodynamic loudspeaker came onto the market. The concept for this was actually invented earlier, along with the development of the telephone. However, it was not until the 1920s that the amplifiers needed to operate the loudspeakers were built. From then on, things happened very quickly: in 1931, the bass reflex principle was patented. One year later, the first 2-way system was developed. Another year later, in 1933, the 3-way system was developed. Due to the rapid advances in developments, increasingly powerful systems came onto the market, up to our current monitors, which can be controlled digitally via DSP.
