The ever-increasing number of entries shows the BOAT Design & Innovation Awards to be growing in popularity, especially in the interior and exterior categories. Where entries may have fallen short this year is in the Eco category. We encourage the industry to increase its focus on more comprehensive environmental considerations and to go beyond IMO Tier III compliance. The owner loves to play rock music, so the yacht is equipped with an incredible battery of high-end amplification, powerful K-Array speakers, a listening room and a DJ booth. Two years later he was lured away by Damen as head of high speed ship design. Brashly, at age 28, he opened his own firm to specialise in high speed commercial and navy projects.
