In April 2022, New Mexico launched its adultuse cannabis industry. When the legalization measure passed, my mom asked if she should try to open a dispensary to help build her retirement fund. My initial reaction was a resounding no. She didn’t have any experience in the industry and I knew it would be capitalintensive to launch if she were fortunate enough to obtain a license.
