ACCORDING to Kia, the design, which has been led by its European design studio in Frankfurt with input from the brand’s Namyang, Korea, and Irvine, California, design centres, is inspired by the interplay of sharp angles and smooth lines seen on modern fighter jets.
The frontal aspect sees the headlamps migrate from the grille to the upper bonnet, while the profile exhibits a more angled, rakish silhouette with larger rear “haunches” and overhangs that are longer up front and shorter at the rear. There are hints of the 2013 Provo concept in the rear aspect, especially in the taillamp treatment with its narrow light clusters bridged by a chrome strip.
