Driving home from work one afternoon, my partner Alison’s number flashed up on my phone. I pulled over to answer her call. Little did I know that my entire life would change in that moment.
‘Hayden, I’ve got breast cancer,’ Alison, 48, stammered.
‘What?’ I gasped.
‘Don’t worry, we’ll get through it,’ she replied.
