In February 2020, at South Africa’s Mmabatho High Court, Xander Bylsma was found guilty of two counts of murder. The sentence hearing was due to start on 18 May this year but was delayed due to coronavirus. It finally began in August and Bylsma was handed two life sentences. Speaking of Bylsma’s lack of remorse, Judge Hendricks said, ‘This could be a stumbling block of your realisation of what lifelong suffering you have inflicted on the victims’ families.
