THIS WAS UNEXPECTED. THE TRIUMPH TRIDENT 660 in front pulls several bike lengths away from out of the junction. Never mind the gravel or the potholes, the triple howls away from my 600cc single, which should have been the one burping forward with its instant torque. I follow bike and rider in great partnership ahead, and we fly up and shoot down the three hills running south from Arlescote, Warwickshire, just west of the M40, and south towards Chipping Norton, through picturesque villages, woodland, and a rather large military base, all while keeping an eye on that tasty triple hare in front. Oh, and the pilot of said hare? Just one lifelong development engineer, racer, rider and Triumph stalwart, Mr Norman Hyde.
