“It’s an inexpensive, easy, stable boat to sail and the conventional spinnaker allows the full range of sailing skills. If I can’t find a crew, it’s easy to sail solo. After a lifetime of sailing, I like to put something back into the sport by having youngsters crew for me in races or by teaching them to sail, and for this, the Mirror dinghy, with centre-mainsheet, is excellent. They are small enough for young children to handle, and with the deep cockpit, nervous kids feel safe sitting in (rather than on top of) the boat. From time to time, the boat gets damaged. With a wooden hull it’s easy to repair, and although re-varnishing or painting takes time, the result is always worthwhile.” Martin Egan, Mirror 15563 Blyskawica…
