When most people talk about building a boat for themselves, they have a kit dinghy in mind or perhaps, if they are ambitious, a small yacht, or something built to instruction. Pieter was talking about a 56ft S&S yawl, something he achieved in just seven years of downtime. She’s a near-identical copy of the 1935 yacht Avanti. The only difference is in her construction, which is strip-planked rather than plank on frame. You can read about her on page 4.
