Daniels began operating his veterinary practice out of a wagon, mixing up his medicinal remedies to treat horses, dogs, sheep, cattle, and—later—poultry and cats. (He was the first to market catnip!) Traditional animal doctors were a relatively new phenomenon at the time, and Dr. Daniels quickly became a trusted source, leading him to establish a Boston office and laboratory.
