Traditionally made using a marudi, now in a simplified form using a kumihimo disk, which is widely available in Australia, made out of foam. Traditionally round with 32 slots, square disks are also available for flat braids. The disks are very easy to use and versatile and great if you like to have a project on the go while travelling.
