Our beautiful balloons make a cheerful collection of motifs that you can use to customise all sorts of everyday projects. What’s more these are ideal motifs for stash-busting – as leftover threads can be used to create them. Our Hot Air Balloons alphabet letters were mounted in a card, plastic hoop and a thread-bound embroidery hoop. Hullo! I was recently chatting with a real go-getter. You know the type – driven, single-minded, always planning the next move. She’s highly successful, runs her own business, has bold plans for her future. As I listened to her talk, I thought to myself ‘wow! I wish I were lucky enough to do that!’. Our Glastonbury house’s story… Bristol has been called ‘Britain’s most Georgian town’ so it’s hardly surprising that fine examples of the style can be found a few miles further south in Glastonbury. Perhaps offering the most perfect proportions, Georgian houses feature beautiful symmetry, predominantly brick elevations and hip roofs, often with the pretty dormer windows that are featured in our Somerset house. Less lofty than later Victorian rooms, ceilings were still high by modern standards and the staircase was often right through the centre of the house, with the bedrooms arranged off a galleried landing.
