“Flamingo Lodge, my craft space, is named after my flamingo tree, with pretty pink leaves when it’s in flower, she explains. “Plus, the fact that I was always injuring my left leg, every two years, hence Flamingo – standing on one leg!”
Johanne’s journey with cross stitch began over three decades ago, sparked by a meaningful choice of kit. “Over 35 years ago, a kingfisher caught my eye. My father-in-law lived on Kingfisher Road. Challenging myself by starting with a kit, I completed it by following the instructions. From that moment, I became addicted to cross stitch.
