If you’re old enough to remember the domestic time-trialling scene of the late-Eighties, you may well remember the Kate and Bob Crisp tandem partnership. The legendary husband-and-wife duo — Kate as pilot, Bob as stoker — set records at almost every distance, many of which still stand, including their 3hr 32min 100-mile mark from 1988. Kate Churchill (she separated from Bob in 1995) remains a highly motivated cyclist, and recently approached CW to help her prepare for the 2019 Paris-Brest-Paris (1,200km). We handed over her training schedule to masters coach Tom Daly.
