I started cycling about eight years ago, aged 12, after watching the 2012 Olympics. Since then, the sport has become a bigger and bigger part of my life – to the point that now, having just turned 20, I’m a full-time rider aspiring to become a professional cyclist.
I know I’m not alone in this, but the coronavirus lockdown has turned my life upside-down. Right now I should be well into my fifth race season, having signed with a new British amateur road racing team (soon to be officially launched). Instead, I’m sitting here writing this, trying to work out if or when racing might get under way.
