It’s been a difficult year for charities, and the Dave Rayner Fund is no different. Set up in the 1990s following the tragic death of the young pro, it has over the years sent hundreds of young riders abroad to race, finding them teams and backing them financially. Some have turned pro, while others have gone on to careers in the cycling industry.
Sadly, the pandemic hit the fund’s two main fundraisers: their dinner and the Etape du Dales sportive.
