When the owners of this large house in Shenzhen, a family of five, approached Alfred Lam of Lime Design to design their dream home, it wasn’t the whopping 1,200 square metres he thought was extravagant, but the idea of placing a private spa in the basement, replete with a steam room. Undaunted, though, by the scale or by the spa, Lam pressed on, and now says ‘the spa adds to the overall luxury of the home’. And luxurious as the house undoubtedly is, it is an understated luxury — what Lam states is precisely Lime Design’s modus operandi.
