DURING the Isle of Wight Bus Museum’s ‘Wightrider’ event in Ryde, Bachmann Europe Plc unveiled six new 1/76 scale Bedford OB coaches as part of its growing EFE Road range of diecast collectables. The new models continue the legacy of the popular Exclusive First Editions (EFE) models of the Bedford OB, but now feature wing mirrors for the first time. Each is finished in a highly detailed livery that represents its full-size counterpart during its working career, or in preservation where appropriate. Bedford introduced the OB in 1939 as a replacement for its earlier WLB type. It featured a 28hp engine with a four-speed manual gearbox, a fully floating rear axle, and vacuum servo-assisted hydraulic brakes. The top speed was in the region of 40mph. DD FAIRS held it’s first Toy and Train Collectors Fair on Sunday 6th October at the Pavilions of Harrogate at the Great Yorkshire Show ground, in North York shire. With easy access from the A1(M) it is an excellent venue for both traders and the public with free parking, easily accessible by car or public transport. With 100 tables in 2 spacious halls, plus refreshments, it was warmly received by all. A vast range of collectables were on sale including diecast models both old and new, railway, Lego, and Sci-fi. The organiser’s, Ken and Peter Hartshorne, from Dalesman Diecast Model shop one of the largest in York shire, were pleased with the support of traders and public alike and are looking forward to the next fair in March.
